Race to save unique windmill in Lincolnshire
Heckington windmill can be seen for miles around - it's the area's most famous landmark. But repairs are urgently needed.
It's the only eight-sail windmill in the country, but rot is spreading through all the sails.
Now ambitious plans are in place for the listed building. New sails will be fitted within weeks and a visitor centre is planned, which would provide a steady source of income for maintenance.
It will cost just under a million pounds to restore the mill; most of the money will come in a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. But, to get the bid in, money has to be raised by the volunteers before August.
The team will find out in December if their bid for funding has been successful.
