New food bank service for pregnant woman

Edgbaston-based Gateway Family Services said so many expectant mothers are going hungry that the service has become essential.

Lynette Oyaide, pregnancy outreach co-ordinator at Gateway Family Services, said some pregnant women were going a week without food because they couldn't find work or access benefits.

Staff at the food bank say donations are move quickly and being claimed as soon as they arrive.
