Easter Travel
It’s the start of the Easter weekend and thousands of people are expected to travel across the UK and beyond to get to their holiday destinations.
Motoring experts say that due to the bad weather and the increase in fuel prices, they're not anticipating that this Easter will be as busy as it has been in previous years.
Traffic black spots across the Midlands are still expected to see delays.
The RAC say some of the roadworks on the M5 have cleared over the last week which should help to reduce delays; however, the north of Birmingham on the M6 will be congested.
Around 580,000 passengers are expected to pass through Birmingham Airport over the two-week Easter break, and it’s estimated that around 71,400 people will travel to and from East Midlands airport between now and next Tuesday.
Yesterday was the busiest day for coach travel, according to National Express. They’ve added more than 7,000 extra coach seats for popular routes.
