A 13 metre car specially built in the UK to reach speeds of up to 1,000 mph and attempting to beat the world landspeed record in South Africa next year will be on display at a company in Nottingham today.

Students from a Nottingham college have been invited to visit the Bloodhound car and try out a simulator which will enact the 1000mph feel.

Nottingham-based Bampton Packaging has been chosen to manufacture packaging for the highly ambitious Bloodhound SCC.

The idea behind the project is that it will encourage students to see what exciting opportunities there are in the fields of science, engineering and maths.
