A Derby charity which has been sending humanitarian supplies to one of the world's poorest countries for 37 years is delivering life-saving water pumps in its latest aid shipment.

The Children of Honduras Trust is delivering four 40ft containers containing hundreds of the filtration pumps to families in Honduras.

They will help protect youngsters from dirty water which can cause illnesses like diarrhoea. Today volunteers are loading up the containers with 300 of the pumps at a warehouse near Ilkeston in Derbyshire.

Each one costs just £20 and are simple enough for children to use. In its 38 years of work, the charity has donated clothes, food, toys and medicines collected by people throughout the county.
