High pressure in charge with the start of Spring tomorrow
This is the week when the hours of daylight begin to exceed those of darkness.
It's the Vernal Equinox on Tuesday March 20th - the official start of Spring - when night and day are nearly exactly the same length, 12 hours, all over the world.
And the weather lives up to expectations this week with high pressure firmly in charge.
Temperatures are already up to 5 - 8c this Monday morning and after a chilly start they will continue to rise steadily to 11 - 13c throughout Monday afternoon with some good spells of sunshine across the Central region.
Tonight, cloudy with clear spells, temperatures not as low as last night 3-6c, but maybe down to freezing in rural parts.
Tuesday will be cloudier then Monday but still with good sunny spells.
A spot of light drizzle is possible out of thicker cloud, but it'll mainly be dry and warm, 12-14c, 54-57f.
High continues to hold the reins throughout the week with light winds, cloud and sunny spells forecast and temperatures rising day-by-day... 14, 15, 16c by the end of the week.
No significant precipitation is due so it's not looking good for drought affected parts of the East Midlands or news on hosepipe bans.
