A teenager has been jailed for possessing gun used in a shooting in St Ann's in Nottingham on Boxing day 2010.

19-year-old Callum Green has been sentenced to five years in prison after admitting possessing a gun used in a near-fatal shooting in Nottingham.

Green was charged with four firearms offences.

The gun was identified as the one used to shoot 25-year-old Damien Meredith at Westville Gardens in St Ann’s, on Boxing Day 2010.

Mr Meredith was left with serious head injuries, but survived the shooting.

Green was arrested in November 2011 and charged.

He appeared at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday and pleaded guilty.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Heydon, who led the investigation into the shooting, said:

Since May last year we have offered a reward of up to £15,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who carried out this shooting.

That reward offer remains.
