The emergency services are using shock tactics to get the road safety message across to teenagers in a town with the worst accident fatality record in Leicestershire.

Leicestershire Police and fire officers are showing a graphic video and crash reconstruction to students at Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough.

There were 11 fatal road accidents in the area last year - 35% of the total for the whole of Leicestershire and Rutland.

The police are targeting sixth-formers because of the high numbers of accidents involving young and new drivers
