Richard Mannington Bowe, 68, was punched to the ground by teenager Darrell Desuze, who today pleaded guilty to his manslaughter.

Described as a loner by nature, Richard had become detached from his family, despite their best efforts.

The last time they saw him, was in a hospital bed hours before he died.

This afternoon Richard Bowes' family from Matlock Bath spoke about losing him.

Today 17-year-old Darrell Desuze admitted killing the pensioner.

Richard's family say the age of his killer makes the situation even more distressing.

"I feel very sad for him, that he's landed in this position at his age, and just hope that he will find a different person in life. It doesn't help to hold on for forgiveness. I forgive him. I would quite like to meet with him and how he's feeling. Something of his background. I hope that would be helpful to me and to him."
