Police negotiate with man holding elderly woman at knife point

Police negotiators are trying to save an elderly woman who is being held hostage at knife point in Oldbury.

Officers were first called to a house in Perry Hill Road in Sandwell on Sunday morning when concerns were raised for the woman's welfare.

She is believed to be in her eighties and the incident is thought to be domestic related.

Police have confirmed that a man aged in his forties is inside the property and armed with a knife.

Road in the area are closed while the police operation takes place.
