Care home residents fear council may decide to close their home
Elderly people living in a care home in the Black Country say they fear the worst after learning that they face the possibility of eviction.
Several of the residents at New Bradley Hall, in Kingswinford, are over the age of 100. Campaigners claim that it could end the lives of some residents if they are forced to move.
The care home had originally been earmarked for closure last year by Dudley Council, but the local authority kept it open after more than 5,000 people added their names to a petition supporting the home.
But now the home is at risk of closure again, as the Council has opened a consultation on the proposals.
The Council says the consultation is about doing the "right thing" for the people living in the home.
A final decision is expected to be reached by the end of April.
