Library faces temporary closure
23 Dec 2019
East Riding Libraries have announced that Willerby Library is to close for refurbishment later this week.
The library will close at 5pm on Tuesday, 7 January, 2020, and is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, 30 January.
The refurbishment will include new carpets, redecoration, and improved shelving.
During the temporary closure, the nearest libraries will be at Haltemprice (Springfield Way) and at Beverley (Champney Road). Books and other items borrowed from Willerby can be returned to any library or mobile library.
An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this temporary closure, but assure our customers that the library will be greatly improved when it reopens.
“During the closure period, we would remind our library customers that the free East Riding Libraries App allows them to carry out a wide range of library functions at the touch of a button. This can be downloaded from your usual app store.
“The online library catalogue is also available at all times and customers can renew or reserve items online with their library card number and PIN. Don’t forget that you can also access ebooks and eaudiobooks from home as well.”
