Election 2018 results: Labour holds councils across Calendar region

There has been little shift in power across the Calendar region with Labour holding councils in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire.

Result: Lab HOLD Bradford

Labour has increased its majority in Bradford after another strong showing in yesterday's local elections.

A third of the council, 30 seats in total, were being contested.

Labour gained four seats. The Conservatives also picked up one, with the Liberal Democrats finishing outside the top three in many areas.

Former leader of the council, Ian Greenwood, who lost his seat and the leadership in 2012 became a councillor in Bolton and Undercliffe overnight.

This is the new composition of the council:

  • Labour - 52
  • Conservative - 22
  • Liberal Democrat - 8
  • Independent - 3
  • Green Party - 2
  • The Independents - 2
  • Queensbury Independents - 1
