Three people have been arrested while trying to stop trees being felled in Sheffield.

One campaigner was taken away by a security team after breaching the safety barrier on Thornsett Road in Netheredge, before being handed over to South Yorkshire Police.

A 48-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a section 4 public order offence – using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour.

A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of obstructing a person acting in the execution of the Highways Act 1980.
