Mother welcomes plans for tougher sentences for killer drivers
The mother of an 11-year- old boy run over and killed by a drunk tractor driver has welcomed government plans for courts to give sentences of up to life for drivers who kill.
Harry Whitlam died on a farm at Rothwell in Leeds but the tractor driver wasn't subject to the drink drive laws because it was on private land.
His mother Pam wants that changed - but says tougher sentences for dangerous drivers on the road are a move in the right direction.
