Council-owned buildings in Bradford including schools to undergo fire safety reviews in wake of Grenfell fire

Bradford Council is reviewing building records to see whether its schools and residential buildings meet safety regulations in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire.

All of the city's council-owned buildings that are more than 18-metres high are being reviewed, but residential blocks are being prioritised following the fire in London that has claimed the lives of at least 79 people.

Bradford Council is also encouraging the owners, landlords and managers of private residential blocks to get free cladding sample checks.

Councils across England are being asked to spread the word that the free tests are available for privately owned blocks with Aluminium Composite Material. The free offer is for testing only and will prioritise buildings over six storeys in height.
