Services are taking place across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire to mark 100 years since the Battle of the Somme. Thousands of men in the Pals battalions lost their lives in what became the deadliest battle in the First World War.
More than 1,000 pupils at Wales High School, near Rotheham, gather in the playground for a commemorative service to remember those who died in the battle of the Somme during the First World War.
Later, a plaque will be unveiled in the school to commentate the men from the village of Kiveton Park who were killed in the war.
