Services are taking place across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire to mark 100 years since the Battle of the Somme. Thousands of men in the Pals battalions lost their lives in what became the deadliest battle in the First World War.
The Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds is planning to commemorate the one hundred anniversary of the Battle of the Somme which saw almost half a million British soldiers lose their lives.
