Stolen digger used in York cash machine theft
A stolen digger was used in the theft of a cash machine from a bank in York this morning, police say.
Officers were called to Natwest Bank on Main Street in Heslington at 2.30am. Upon arrival they found that the cash machine had been ripped out of the front of the bank.
It's believed the offenders left the scene in a black Jaguar car, and the cash machine from inside the premises had been taken away on a flat-back truck.
The digger, which was green in colour and had been reported stolen earlier that evening from a farm near the Grimston Bar roundabout in York, was left at the scene.
