A councillor from Brighouse, West Yorkshire, who has put forward a motion calling for every school to sing God Save The Queen in assemblies has told ITV Calendar he wants the nation to 'unite behind one flag'.
Brighouse Councillor Scott Benton who represents the Conservatives also wants to encourage all of primary and secondary schools to fly the Union flag in school grounds.
The proposal will be discussed at a Calderdale Council meeting tonight.
