Adams and other family members were at home at the time but were not aware of the break-in. Burglars took two cars, training kit and valuable personal possessions.

The Leeds boxer's grey Hyundai Veloster Turbo was found at around 8.20am today parked in Sandringham Way in Alwoodley after a member of the public called the police to report it having been left there.

Unfortunately the boxing equipment and other items that were in the boot when it was stolen were no longer in the vehicle.

We would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle being left in Sandringham Way any time after it was stolen on Wednesday morning.

The silver Ford Focus TDCi, registration YH09DLU, that was also stolen in the burglary remains outstanding at this time. We would still like to hear from anyone who has seen that vehicle or who knows its current whereabouts."

– Det Constable Will Tsang, West Yorkshire Police

The gold medallist had been due to fight in the national championships this weekend but pulled out due to the burglary.
