Sick and stranded South Yorkshire man hoping for return home next week

A South Yorkshire holidaymaker's issued a stark warning to others not to travel without insurance after discovering he's not covered after being struck down by a rare condition in Thailand.

Speaking from intensive care at a hospital in Bangkok, Craig Lindley has told Calendar he applied for insurance online, but has since found out the transaction failed.

Family and friends have rallied round to pay towards the cost of his treatment and are now appealing for more help in bringing him home next week.
