Sheffield Council mourns loss of "international ambassador"

“The people of Sheffield will be united today in mourning the death of Joe Cocker.

"His was one of the great voices of music and as an internationally recognised ambassador for our city he was one of Sheffield’s finest sons and he will be long remembered and long missed.

"Our thoughts are, of course, with his family and closest friends at this time.”
