Former Premier League footballer Clarke Carlisle is now awake in hospital, nearly a month after he was seriously injured in a collision with a lorry.

The charity for which Clarke Carlisle is a trustee has said he has head and knee injuries.
The Kaleidoscope Plus Group says it has contacted his family, and that he has head injuries and a knee injury.
"The thoughts and prayers of everyone connected with The Kaleidoscope Plus Group are with our Board of Trustees Chair, Clarke Carlisle and his family following the news he was involved in a serious road traffic accident yesterday.
"The incident occurred near to his home in York from where Clarke was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary, although at present the full extent of his injuries and condition are unknown.
"Clarke recently accepted an offer to join The Kaleidoscope Plus Group Board of Trustees and was voted in as our new Chair at our AGM on Monday December 15.
"We will endeavour to update you with any further developments as soon as we have them."
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
