Massive offshore wind project given go-ahead

An offshore wind project that is expected to bring up to 2,500 local jobs and millions of pounds' worth of investment to Yorkshire and LIncolnshire, has been given the go-ahead by the Government.

Hornsea Project One will be made up of three offshore wind farms based 64 miles off the East Yorkshire coast.

Once built, it will generate enough electricity to power more than 800,000 homes. It is one of the largest investments in the Humberside area in the last 50 years.

Three offshore wind farms get Governement go-ahead
