Knaresborough's Mayor, Tony Handley, says the town will be cheering every rider as today's Tour de France passes through.
Mr Handley told ITV Calendar that painting his house polka-dot was "the best forty quid I've ever spent" and says the tour is the 'beginning of great things' for Knaresborough.
When it isn't polka-dot, it's yellow, and one canny resident has painted some handy warnings for the cyclists:
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
This Evening and Tonight: Showers or longer spells of rain are forecast through the evening and night.
For the second day running there were no deaths of people who tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland.
