A murder investigation has been launched in Sheffield after a man was shot dead in the Manor area of the city early on Saturday. South Yorkshire Police say emergency services were called to waste land off Queen Mary Road at around 2.20am.
A 23-year-old man was found with what are believed to be gunshot injuries. He was taken to hospital but died a short time later. Officers say he has yet to be formally identified.
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
