The last person to die as a result of the Hillsborough disaster was remembered in court today.

Tony Bland, from Keighley in West Yorkshire, died after being in a coma for almost four years. His family is among the last to give a personal tribute to their son at the inquest, which is hearing from the relatives of all 96 victims.

A statement written by his parents, Barbara and Allan, was read out in court. Part of it read:

"The young man we knew lost his life on 15th April 1989 and died in hospital four years later, on 3 March 1993."

Allan Bland spoke today of how the family came to the decision to turn of Tony's life-support machine.
