After much uncertainty and four years of promises it was finally confirmed today that almost a third of a billion pounds will be invested in Hull in new plants to make giant offshore wind turbines.
The German company Siemens which is behind the project says it hopes to kick start a whole new industry in the area. And they were backed by the Prime Minister David Cameron who flew in to take a look at the plans in person. Chris Kiddey reports..
