Batley venue could be saved by listed status
The Government is to make a decision in the near future whether to safeguard one of the North's best-known entertainment venues by making it a listed building.
60's singing sensation recalls fond memories of Batley Variety club
The Bachelors singing group laid the foundation stone of the Batley Variety Club, when it opened in 1967.
The club attracted some of the biggest names in show business including Louis Armstrong, Dame Shirley Bassey and Dame Gracie Fields.
John Stokes, one of The Bachelors' original line-up, has fond memories of the club.
