Lincolnshire police are totting up how much it cost to manage two protests held in Grantham. English Defence League staged a rally against plans for an Islamic Centre in the town. A counter demonstration was held by Grantham Solidarity Network.
Lincolnshire Police has confirmed that no arrests were made during or in the aftermath of a demonstration by the English Defence League and a counter demonstration by Grantham Solidarity Network. The cost of policing the event is still unknown at this stage.
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
