Transfer deadline day round up: Barnsley FC

Barnsley reappointed former boss Danny Wilson just before Christmas with the club struggling in the Championship and the new manager has moved to bolster his squad for the second half of a difficult season.

In a deadline day deal, Arsenal's Ghanian internation midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong moved to Oakwell on loan for the remainder of the season, having struggled to hold down a place in Arsene Wenger's title challenging squad.

More Premiership quality was recruited in the form of Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz, Crystal Palace's Jack Hunt and Stoke's Brek Shea.

Tyke's fans will be also pleased with the decision to extend the loan deal of Liverpool's young defender Ryan McLaughlin.

Former Preston goalkeeper Iain Turner and former Irish international Liam Lawrence both joined on free transfers

Exiting the Yorkshire club are Jason Scotland, Jim McNulty, David Perkins and Scott Wiserman, all on free transfers but importantly their departures free up space on the club's wage bill.
