Former Leeds United captain Bobby Collins has died at the age of 82.

Glasgow-born Collins made 167 appearances during a five year stint at Elland Road between 1962 and 1976.

Former Leeds United captain Bobby Collins has died at the age of 82.

Glasgow-born Collins made 167 appearances during a five year stint at Elland Road between 1962 and 1976.

The Scottish international was signed by Don Revie from Everton for £25,000 when Leeds were in the old 2nd Division and made him club captain.

Collins lead the team back into the top-flight in 1964 and was named Footballer of the Year in 1965 after almost leading the side to a league and cup double.

After his playing career ended Collins managed Huddersfield Town , Hull City and Barnsley. he also had two spells coaching with Leeds.
