Football hooligans jailed
Eleven men have been sentenced to a total of almost thirty years behind bars after football violence in Lincoln. The Lincoln City "fans" pleaded guilty to charges of violent disorder at the city's magistrates court.
It follows a violent clash in a pub before a home game against Luton Town in October last year, which then spilled out into High Street and Firth Road. Furniture and glasses were thrown and two women were treated in hospital for minor injuries.
All the men, aged between 18 and 36 have also been given 10 year bans from football matches. Police released footage, below, of the fight, and DI Suzanne Davies said:
"This was a protracted police investigation that went to great lengths to track down every single offender involved in the violence on that day. All of these offenders are thugs who masquerade as football fans."
"They give decent, law abiding home and visiting fans a bad name and they have rightfully been brought to justice."
