Godfrey Bloom marks "eventful year" in Christmas card

Bloom and his wife in their 2013 Christmas card

Controversial MEP, Godfrey Bloom, has tackled his critics head-on in his annual Christmas card.

Bloom, who left UKIP earlier this year, following a series of high profile gaffes appears with his wife, Katie.

He poses with a set of bongos, in response to a comment over foreign aid, where he claimed Britain should not send aid to "bongo-bongo land".

Mrs Bloom is dressed as a 'slut' - referencing comments made by Bloom during a Women In Politics talk in reference to a comment made years earlier about women not cleaning behind the fridge.

The MEP says the card, which will be sent to around 400 people, was a way of marking the "eventful year".
