The West Yorkshire police officer who was shot during a routine call to investigate a disturbance in Leeds has been named today.
Thirty three-year-old Suzanne Hudson was left with serious injuries to her face, neck and hand, when a firearm was discharged when she called at a house in the Hyde Park area of Leeds on Wednesday.
Pc Hudson remains in a serious but stable condition in a Leeds hospital. Her colleague PC Richard Whiteley was uninjured in the incident.
37-year-old James Leslie, of Queenswood Drive, Leeds, appeared before Leeds magistrates today accused of attempting to murder two police officers.
He was remanded in custody to appear again at Leeds Crown Court on December 20. There was no application for bail.
