Riding on the wave of success

Residents in Bramley near Leeds, who took over the running of their local swimming pool when it was threatened with closure, say they are celebrating success at the end of their first year in charge.

Mermaid classes and swimming while watching films like Jaws have boosted visitor numbers and have allowed organisers at Bramley Baths to extend opening hours. Now they hope their model could be used by other communities to save more venues.
