A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after temporarily disrupting the start of a General Synod service at York Minster.
The Church of England has issued a statement following an attack on stewards at York Minster.
"One of the stewards asked him to wait until the procession had passed and he assaulted the steward. Another steward approached him, he also assaulted them before he was restrained by a member of staff. The police responded quickly and escorted the man away."
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.

For the second day running there were no deaths of people who tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland.
