Police aree investigating the murder of young father in Leeds.
Officers investigating the murder of Jordan Stapleton have found a shotgun during a search of woods near to the scene in Meanwood.
Specialist teams have been searching the area of woodland off Beckhill Avenue since Monday after receiving information. They discovered the shotgun last night.
Detective Superintendent Scott Wood, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is a significant find as part of our ongoing investigation into Jordan's murder. We will be consulting forensic and ballistics experts to establish whether the gun is connected to the shooting."
Three men appeared in court this week charged with his murder. They were remanded in custody and the case adjourned to July 26.
Jordan, aged 21, was found with a fatal gunshot wound in his home on Beckhill Chase, Leeds, on Tuesday 16 April.
At around 11pm on Friday night police were called to Darley Avenue in Athersley to reports that a man had been stabbed.
