Police search canal in murder inquiry

Police divers are searching a canal as part of an inquiry into the suspected murder of a man from Nottingham. James Brodie disappeared in 2003 shortly after the murder of Mansfield jeweller Marian Bates. The search at East Heckington in Lincolnshire is due to last the week.

Dean Betton, who's 32 and from Raleigh Street in Radford, is accused of his murder. Two men aged 31 and 34 remain on bail whilst further inquiries are carried out.
