Extra help made available for victims of domestic abuse

Leeds Women's Aid and NHS Leeds are re-launching their drop in service, where women affected by domestic violence can come and talk in confidence.

Existing sessions in hospitals on Mondays and Wednesday will continue, but the addition of a city centre venue on a Friday will enable more women from across the city to attend and to start the journey of living free from abuse.

  • The new venue is Together Women project, 13 Park Square East , LS1 2LF and the sessions are between 9-11 and 12-2.

Domestic Violence affects one in four women in their lifetime. In an average year 1 in 10 women are known to have experienced violence from a partner or ex-partner. In Leeds this equates to over 35,000 women.
