Drivers on roads in Leeds and Bradford spend more than 80 hours a year stuck in traffic jams. The area is said to have the fastest-growing congestion problem in Europe, according to a survey today by the satellite navigation firm TomTom.
It says that journey times can be increased by more than 50 per cent during the morning rush hour. Even Londoners have it easier, with drivers in the capital spending 74 hours a year in jams.
