Queen at 90: the region celebrates

Beacons have been lit across the region this evening as part of the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations.

The Queen lit up the first in a network of 1,000 beacons , while local authorities around the UK hosted lighting events to create a network of flames in celebration.

Britain's longest serving postman made a very special delivery today, as the Queen toured a Royal Mail centre on the eve of her 90th birthday.

Bob Hartley from Leeds hails from a long line of his posties, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.

He's worked at the Royal mail for more than half a century, but today was the first time he had been required to hand a parcel to the Queen.
