The A171 Stainsacre Lane has re-opened, after it was closed due to earlier flooding.

North Yorkshire road closures due to flooding
The A174 Sandsend Road is closed due to flooding between Sandsend Road / Dunsley Lane and Lodge Road (Lythe Bank).
The A171 Stainsacre Lane is shut because of flooding between Summerfield Lane and Fairfield Way.

Whitby cut off by flash flooding
Whitby has been hit by flash floods tonight.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say that they have been responding to several flooding calls in the Whitby area with water entering premises.
The have also had to deal with a car stuck in flood water. Two people have been helped to safety by Fire crews.
Fire Engines from Whitby, Scarborough, Lythe and Robin Hoods Bay are currently dealing with flash flooding incidents.
Police say all roads into the town are cut off apart from one route at Ruswarp, which they say can only be used by 4x4 vehicles.
