Lincolnshire police say 13 people have now been charged after an illegal rave near Bourne over the weekend. There were multiple arrests at Twyford Woods as officers ended the illegal event. They also confiscated sound equipment and some vehicles.The various charges range from drugs offences to drink driving. 26 people have been released on bail whilst further investigations are carried out.

Police bring illegal rave to an end

Lincolnshire Police have confirmed that they ended the illegal rave at Twyford Woods, near Bourne, last night on health and safety grounds. The operation was carried out during daylight between 7.30pm and 9.15pm. No one was injured.

12 more arrests were made for various offences bringing the total since it began to 28. A number of vehicles have been seized along with sound amplification equipment and generators.

The force closed the A1 during Sunday evening for the police operation. They have apologised to motorists.

We felt it necessary because of our concerns for public safety and the proximity of the illegal event to the A1 and people attempting to return to cars left on the verges of the carriageway.

Illegal rave crowd attack police

Four police officers have been injured - one seriously - after officers came under attack from a large crowd of revellers when they broke up an illegal rave in Lincolnshire last night.

Police went to the Twyford Woods area, just off the A1, near Bourne, around midnight, after receiving a call from a member of the public complaining about loud noise and anti-social behaviour.

But when they attempted to break up the gathering they came under attack from the large crowd. Four officers were injured, one seriously but not life-threatening. A police dog was also injured.

Three women from Norfolk were arrested and police seized sound amplification equipment and generators. Police are asking motorists to avoid the roads around Twyford Woods whilst their enquiry continues.
