Ceremonies were held around the world today, to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War battle for Gallipoli.

Leaders and dignitaries from many countries attended a service in Turkey - including Prince Charles and Prince Harry.

A special service of remembrance has been held in Hull to mark the 100th anniversary of the disasterous Gallipoli campaign. In Australia and New Zealand Anzac Day remembers the thousands who lost their lives in the First World War and later conflicts. Martin Fisher reports.

Hull memorial service to mark 100th anniversay of Gallipoli landings

A special memorial service is taking place in Hull to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings - one of the bloodiest battles of World War 1.

The Deputy Lord Mayor of Hull will be there alongside representatives from the Australian High Commision and members of the Hull Veterans' Support Centre. The service will be followed by wreath laying at the Cenotaph.
