Sheffield's boxing world champion Kell Brook has told Calendar he feared for his life and his family after being stabbed in the leg whilst on holiday.
The 26-year-old was on holiday with his pregnant wife and 2-year-old daughter, celebrating the world title he won in Los Angeles just 2 weeks before, when he was the victim of an unprovoked attack.
Kell is now back home recovering from his injury and has promised to come back fitter and stronger. He spoke to Calendar reporter Chris Dawkes:
Brook: "I can beat Floyd Mayweather'
Kell Brook says he genuinely believes that he would beat boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather if they were to ever meet in the ring.
He said if his proposed fight with Amir Khan goes ahead, the winner should get the chance to take on the American, who is undefeated as a professional and is a five-division world champion:

On the mend Kell wants to take on Mayweather
IBF welterweight world champion Kell Brook has been telling Calendar he is already counting down the days until he can get back in the ring, just over three weeks after being stabbed in the leg while on holiday in Tenerife.
He added that if his proposed fight with Amir Khan gets the green light, the winner should earn the right to fight Floyd Mayweather to earn the title of undisputed world champion in the welterweight division:

Sheffield boxer Kell Brook, who is recovering after being stabbed in the leg while on holiday in Tenerife, has revealed the extent of his injury.
Kell needed 35 stitches for the wound and was left with a 12-inch scar.
