Louis Tomlinson makes Doncaster Rovers debut

He is more used to wowing the crowds on stage but One Direction's Louis Tomlinson did the same on the football pitch last night in his long-awaited debut for Doncaster Rovers.

The boyband star was a second half substitute for the reserve team match against Rotherham in front of a bumper crowd as James Webster reports:

Speaking to Doncaster Rovers website after his debut, One Direction star, Louis Tomlinson said appearing for the club was a boyhood dream:

This One Direction Fan was at the Keepmoat tonight to see Louis Tomlinson's debut for the Rovers, but her journey to get there was at a little longer than most others who had turned out to see their idol.

She had travelled from America for the occasion and although the match ended with a goalless draw, she got to see Louis on the pitch in the second half.

As a global superstar and a recent winner at the Brit Awards, he's used to rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous.

But tonight Louis Tomlinson isn't taking centre stage.

The One Direction star is finally making his debut for Doncaster Rovers tonight - his home team. He's playing in the South Yorkshire derby and hoping to raise lots of money for charity. Michael Billington reports.
