Text Santa: Where your money goes

ITV's annual charity Text Santa has raised £4,187,686 in an evening of fundraising for Age UK, Barnardo's, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices.

This evening there is a whole night of fund-raising events on ITV. But for now we feature two more of the chosen charities asking for your support. Emma Wilkinson's been talking to people who've been helped by children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent and the British Heart Foundation.

Last week ITV's 7000 Santa’s little helpers helped to raise over £104,641.23 during the Big Bag Pack.

A lot of you have already got into the Christmas spirit of giving by supporting ITV's Text Santa campaign this year - which is helping six of our chosen charities keep going all year round.

We had planned to film at the annual Christmas party at Age UK in Hull. But the biggest storm in more than half a century put an end to that idea, as Victoria Whittam reports.

As part of ITV's Text Santa campaign, we visited two of the charities which benefitted from last year's donations.

100% of donations made by viewers are evenly distributed to ITV's chosen charities within three months of each televised appeal.

It is not long to go until ITV's huge Text Santa event.

But behind all the fun and celebrity glamour are six charities who'll benefit from the generosity of viewers. All this week we will be having a look at where some of the money is going, starting with Help the Hospices.
