Countdown to Trinity opening

It's being called the £350 million gamble. In two days time Trinity Leeds will open as Europe's biggest city centre shopping mall.

It's backers say they're confident it'll bring the shoppers pouring in - bucking the recession and Britain's struggling High Streets.

But with more than 120 shops and restaurants, there are fears it'll squeeze the life out of other parts of the city. David Hirst reports.

They may be celebrating the opening of the Trinity shopping centre in Leeds on Thursday. But similar shopping centre schemes in Sheffield and Bradford remain on hold. A few views here from the folk of Bradford.
